I absolutely love this dress! I made it last summer and for some reason didn’t like it at the time. I am not exactly sure why. I re-fixed the shoulders because they didn’t fit right and now it is very comfortable. It has been really hot lately and this dress was just so nice and cool. I love the black and white gingham and the style is reminiscent of a 50’s style dress. I wanted a little something extra so I paired it with this lacy short sleeve flowy cardigan. I have found myself wearing this style a lot lately. What I would consider a 50’s silhouette of a high gathered waist, full past the knee skirt and fitted bodice. If I didn’t feel like it would overdress it (and I had the right shoes) I would love to wear heels. A pair of Mary Jane type shoes is definitely on my dream list. This outfit was just so feminine and I felt so lady-like and pretty in it as I ran some errands and enjoyed a day with my Nana.
Femininity is something that is very near and dear to my heart. I am passionate about dressing (and acting) like a lady. I feel like it is a lost art in this day and age to be truly feminine. The definition of Feminine is this
Feminine: having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with women, especially delicacy and prettiness:
Another word that comes to mind when I think of femininity is Graceful. Which is one of the words that embodies my blog and is in the title. The Grace in Ruffles and Grace has a twofold meaning for me. First and foremost it stands for the Grace of God that has been extended to me and by which I am saved for all eternity. Secondly, it represents the art and appearance and spirit that I hope is a part of who I am.
Grace: a simple elegance or refinement of movement: a controlled, polite, and pleasant way of behaving.
This states it in such a beautiful way!I will dissect my favorite words from it and explain how I picture the meaning of them.
Simple elegance: Not over abundant of flamboyant in anyway, modest.
refinement of movement: just overall carrying myself in a confident, graceful, modest way.
controlled, polite and pleasant way of behaving: I strive to be polite and pleasant in the way that I act and behave in my life to others. Whether that be to a stranger, or to my siblings and parents. Which I won’t lie, is definitely not an easy thing to do at times, and as a human, I am far from perfect.
Ultimately, It is a matter of the heart. Is my heart where it needs to be to be a blessing and be a graceful, grace filled and grace extending person today? That is my prayer.
I could speak of why I find femininity important for hours. I actually think I will do a post more in depth and I will try to be organized. Maybe even bullet points will be involved!~ LOL

Femininity is so important. My sisters and I are definitely girly and feminine! I like how you explained your blog name a little bit too.
Thanks Solie! Perhaps I should do a post on my blog name soon! Blessings,

That was so interesting! I agree that femininity is how God designed women to be and is how we girls ought to act in our dress, character, and spirit. Thanks Victoria! Tess
Thanks Tess, I agree whole heartedly! Blessings,
